Highway

The Highway Superintendent is an elected position with a 4 year term (2010 - present).

The department is responsible for the maintenance & repair of Town highways and bridges, as well as removal of obstructions casued by brush & snow.

Our Highway Department is there to help in keeping our families and friends safe while on our roads. Please remember that all roads in the Town of Augusta are not town roads, some are County while others are State. So if you see one road being taken care of and what seems to be skipping over yours, please be patient as the County and State have several vicinities to tend too. Any questions or concerns, you may always call the Highway Depart ent at 315 843-4811.

Every Year in May, the Town holds TRASH DAYS ... This is not garbage collection but a chance to rid yourselves of the large items such as mattresses, televisions, empty paint cans, etc. Please call the Highway Department at 315 843-4811 with questions on items that will be accepted and those that won't.

Tires can be turned in to the Highway Dept. Please call for details.

Weekly garbage collection is the sole responsibility of the homeowner with whatever company they choose. See Local Business enclosure for Sanitation companies.

Appliances such as dryers, TVs, microwaves, etc. may be brought to the Town Barn during trash days. Please remember that Refridgerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners or any other appliance containing Freon cannot be accepted. Call 315-843-4811 with questions.

Please also REMEMBER, that during our winter months, plowing or pushing snow into the roadways creates a very dangerous situation for our plow drivers, not to mention that it is also against the law! Please help us keep our highway department workers safe while they are out keeping our residents safe.
